New music: Burial Kindred EP!

This morning I got a nice surprise seeing Hyperdub tweet the release of Burial’s Kindred EP. Head over to their shop to buy it! You can stream the tracks on Hyperdub’s site too.

The EP features three tracks, Kindred, Loner and Ashtray Wasp. The first and last are sprawling 11 minutes track, making Loner’s 7 minute span seem short! If you like Burial, Kindred will be pretty much what you expect. For my money, it’s not quite up to last year’s Street Halo, but it’s a quality release all the same….

January Newbies

Hello everyone, just a quick update as Tullis from …join the dots… will be playing out this weekend. 

• Friday 13th is at the launch of an interactive art exhibition “La Puerta Abierta” (more details on Facebook). 

• Saturday 14th at Kabara, as this wonderfully designed flyer illustrates.

• We’ve got a new mix up, recorded live at last months Join The Dots session at Rouge. Its everything from tropicalia, cumbia, soul and funk to disco and hiphop.

Winter mix and more …dots… events

• SATURDAY DECEMBER 3 - The last …join the dots… of 2011 at Bar Rouge. We’ll be back to full strength, with a smörgåsbord of rhythm and sound. This year has been outstanding for new music, and we’ll be playing plenty of it.

• This week’s hottest tracks? I would have pointed you to Sepulcure’s album, but then Madlib’s new collaboration with Freddie Gibbs appeared from out of nowhere. It’s shit hot, as you would imagine. Check it out:

Live From Rouge: October 2011 (Part I)

Saturday saw the latest edition in …join the dots…  monthly residency at Barcelona’s Rouge Bar. We spun 4hrs of everything from psyche and country-soul to UK Bass and grime, hip-hop and afrobeat. Plus a wicked Talking Heads track. Erm, and some Cher.

Apparently we also stood around staring at our laptops and drinking beer. Thanks Pau.
